I live at the end of a loooong private private drive (1,100 feet) that is shared amongst a dozen or so different detached single family homes. Our electrical and phone service(AT&T DSL) is brought to us on overhead telephone/electrical poles that sit on private property. None of these neighbors have Cox Cable services. However, every other adjacent street and their respective residences do have access to Cox Cable/Internet services.
We and most of our neighbors have DSL and AT&T Uverse services are not available in our area. DSL is not sufficient so I got an estimate from Cox customer development team to bring me their cable internet services and the pricing was off the charts! But in fairness to them, they have to factor the costs of dealing with finicky homeowners, legal issues like easements, etc. I have decided to go and find an independent/third party cable installer and run my own line out to the most convenient drop area/telephone & electrical pole for Cox. I have been assured by professionals familiar with telecommunications technology and law that this is possible.
My question is this: Does anyone know of a 3rd party telecommunications contractor that has experience dealing with these type of installations and working with Cox Communications in a scenario like this?
