I'm currently an Ultimate Tier subscriber. I'm actually happy with my internet service for the most part. It's generally stable, and fast. However, our family comes close to the 400 GB cap each month, and it seems ridiculous that I have to tell the kids to watch their usage toward the end of every month. I realize that there isn't much enforcement of the cap beyond an e-mail, but my cable bill is up to $255/month, so I really shouldn't have to tell the kids to lay off the streaming video at the end of the month. ($255 is for 2 HD DVR's and the Ultimate Tier internet. We don't even get any pay stations for that price!) I shouldn't have to be annoyed by an email every month either (For the record, we haven't crossed the cap yet, but came within 15GB last month).
At any rate, the service is fast. I can max out at about 122 megabit (15 MB/s). My router limits me from getting the whole 150 megabit, but 122 is plenty fast. But here's the thing, I've done the math, with a 400 GB cap at my max speed, you can use your whole monthly allotment in 7.85 hrs! That seems ridiculous, considering there is 720 hrs in a give month.
In case your wondering 15 MB/s = 900 MB/min = 54,000 MB/hr.
54,000 MB/hr = 52.734375 GB/hr
400 GB / 52.734375 GB/hr = 7.5851 hours
