I tried Cox's 6 tuner DVR for a few months and just hated it. It was slow, unreliable, and more often that not channels were "off-air"... So I returned it, and went back to my Tivo HD... Wanting a few more tuners to record though, I got a HDHomeRun Prime, hooked it up with my spare laptop, and traded the contour box for another cable card. Well, to my surprise, I was able to get Pac-12 HD on my Windows Media Center! After analyzing the raw stream in VLC, I found that the only reason Contour channels are special is they are MPEG-4/AVC encoded, so older boxes can't decode them! Sheesh... Well, I'm glad I have another way to watch HD Pac-12 for a while, and glad to be rid of that Contour DVR mess and expense!
